Had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Westleton Crown. It was a DBB and we stayed on the Sunday. The room and pub were fantastic along with our meals. Staff made it for us and were so friendly, will definitely be going back.

This was our second visit to The Crown at Westleton and it was excellent. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Extremely dog friendly, they are made very welcome, our Airedale loves it!

A perfect winter treat. We stayed in Treecreepers, what a fabulous room with a luxurious roll top bath 🛁. Dinner was so delicious and all the team were helpful, friendly and welcoming. I would recommend The Westleton Crown to everyone I know who would love a Suffolk break.

Fabulous food - rather on the expensive side Parsnip Tart Tatin not on the usual rolled puff pastry base....£14 for a few parsnips did seem a lot, when you can buy a bag from a popular supermarket for 75p

We found this by chance as we were going to be in the area for 2 days. We booked a room & a table in the restaurant. The bedroom area was just perfect, very clean & tidy, with a range of tea & coffee making facilities. The bathroom was the same with a range of toiletries, which is always handy. After showering & changing we made our way to the dining room, which had a lovely homely feel. We had already viewed the menu on line so we knew what we wanted, the “Fallow & Fire” for 2 which was a bit different from the norm. We weren’t disappointed with the food it was fabulous. We even decided to have a pudding. A very comfy large bed & warm room. Breakfast the next morning was just perfect, opted for the Eggs Benedict which was delicious. All in all an excellent place to stay & would definitely recommend the Westleton Crown.

A really impressive room. Lovely staff who are very helpful. Great food! 1 free beer as I'm a loyalty customer. Even free canapés at 5pm. I love this place!!

Pre booked Sunday lunch a couple or so of weeks ago for 4 of us. Impressed by the serving team, the three young women were all 3welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food choice - we opted for roasts but there were other options - was good and came well presented and cooked. Nice general buzz about the dining area without being noisy. Families and couples of all ages. I think the bar area was dog friendly although we didn't have one with us. A pleasant experience. Would happily return. Spent about £35 per head for couple of courses and drinks.

A lovely looking place to stay and eat that doesn’t quite hit its own aspirations for some reason. Basics were mostly good; good 5’ bed decent sized room, very nice (but really hot!) bathroom with huge bath and ok shower, tea, coffee, kettle etc., Breakfast was excellent but mostly, the breakfast team were excellent: efficient, kind, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. So, cleaning was patchy, particularly in the public access loos - just poor attention to detail really. Yellow limescale in our bathroom sink was off-putting rather than quaint or quirky. Then, weird but irritating omissions: no hairdryer (in our room anyway), tv with really poor signal (apologies if that’s a persistent local issue!), no emergency mini toothpaste tubes available at reception (“There’s a garage about three miles up the road.”), oddly mean little coffee/teacups that not only are not very big but oddly made the coffee cold really quickly. None of it terrible just not what the inn aspires to in its other facilities. We ate in the restaurant on one evening. There were a number of issues with the service and food orders. Plates were sadly returned but the key issue seemed to be that the manager felt obliged to argue the toss with two of our company. Previously the same man had shared with us a couple of issues that the inn was having with fraudulent drink orders and overcrowding at breakfast leading to long waits for hot food (we didn’t experience this I should add). As a completely new client to this hotel/restaurant chains’ offer, really didn’t want to know about his travails. I just needed to relax and know that I was going to be looked after impeccably for the weekend. Nearly, but not quite.

Another stay for us at the Westleton Crown. The food was great - breakfast and evening meal. Staff were very attentive and helpful. The rooms were good and comfortable. Unfortunately one of the radiators in the room was not working ( we were warm enough though) and we couldn’t fill the bath using the mixer tap ( wouldn’t work) used the drench shower head to fill. Lots of hot water. We were disappointed that the snug seating area had been changed into an eating area. When we found somewhere to sit - bar was full, the sofa was dirty and one of the leather high backed chairs had a chunk out of the arm. This did not spoil our stay though and I’ll sure we’ll be back again.

We were looking for somewhere to stay for five nights that was near to Minsmere Nature Reserve, and The Westleton Crown fitted the bill, especially with its winter discount offers for rooms and food, which were very good value for money. Our overall stay couldn't be faulted: lovely room with daily housekeeping, we enjoyed our breakfasts, evening meals and the real ale, and the team of staff and assistant manager were great, other than one staff member who sorry to say, didn't seem to share the same work ethic and customer service skills as the rest of the team who were always friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them, they were hardworking, committed to keeping the place clean and tidy, and to keeping their customers happy, which we were! Thank you.

Delightful cosy pub in a beautiful village a few miles from Southwold and two miles from the coast. The village has a tea rooms, bookshop and general store and is on the edge of miles of stunning heathland and Minsmere bird sanctuary. Perfectly located for walkers and for day trips in the surrounding area. The service and the range and quality of food, wine and beer on offer was a delight and both we and our dog had a fabulous time. We've already booked our next stay there and plan to return often. Many places claim to be dog friendly but this place really is, which made our stay there so easy as our dog was able to be with us at all times.

We were all looking forward to coming to this restraunt last night as we have all eaten here befor and never had a bad experience. However on this occasion we were disturbed the entire meal by a dog barking non stop. We know it is dog friendly but this was to far and we did complain to be told we are dog friendly so what do you want us to do about it. My father did confront the couple who sat there and let there dog bark through everyone’s meal. It also was not delt with correctly as they refused to apologise and said we are dog friendly I’m sorry but a dog barking the whole meal to the point we can’t here our conversations isn’t friendly at all Further the least claming that you where thrown against the wall when I’m sure the cameras will show you and your staff having a chat in the corner 2 times after we complained about the dog and no one did anything about it nor come and speek to us and actually I think you’ll find you are the one who decided to man handle my father incredibly unprofessional and you are the one who elevated the situation by actually being violent and refusing to apologise I can clearly see that customer service skills are extremely lacking brushing off complaints lying and then actually what would be considered assaulting and older man well loved your restaurant untill yesterday and actually chose it over outher in the area to be severely dissapointed by your lack of care and also just shocked by how rude you didn’t even want to resolve the situation from the get go even at the complaint from our first complaint you decided to laugh with the staff incredibly rude

This hotel is a tasteful mix of traditional country house style along with all of the modern facilities you need. Service is excellent and the staff are competent, friendly and professional.

We had a lovely stay, we booked 3 nights using the winter offer so a great price too The staff were excellent , everyone was helpful and friendly and it was lovely for our dog to be made so welcome. The food was really great, only one slight disappointment was the 'bonoffee pie' compared to everything else this was tiny just ¼ of a banana and a tiny bit if mousse. Apart from that the rest of the food was fabulous especially the beef dripping chips and the leek and potato soup. We look forward to returning and also trying some of the other chestnut group of hotels.

Went to Westleton crown for Christmas dinner very warm welcome by all staff decorated beautifully and felt very special . Excellent service in an extremely busy environment . Food was promptly served and outstanding. Thoroughly recommend this venue to anyone can’t wait to go again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westleton Crown for the 2 night Christmas package. We found Charlie and his staff to be very welcoming and friendly and we appreciated the relaxed atmosphere. We stayed in Woodpecker room which was well appointed, but found the lack of useable shower inconvenient - no problem having a shower over a bath if you can stand up, but with the sloping ceiling it was impossible. Apart from the gravy already added to Christmas lunch (some in our party would prefer to add their own, to personal taste) we all enjoyed the meal (the addition of bread sauce would have made it even better!) and found all the food to be lovely and decent portions. Our son’s allergy was noted by staff which was reassuring. The evening hamper of goodies was well thought out with some lovely products - except that vegetarians/vegans were not quite so well catered for. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Just returned home from a 2 night break after having a wonderful time at the Westleton Crown. Being the period between Christmas and New Year the hotel was busier than usual, however the staff managed beautifully and the service was first class. Food was lovely - fantastic breakfasts as always as were the dinners. We’d booked a ‘best super king’ room and were very pleased with it - comfy bed and all the amenities we needed. Highly recommended.

We have had a brilliant three days at The Crown, Westleton for Christmas. From start to finish Charlie and his staff have been awesome. All the staff were very friendly, caring and helpful. Food excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Our little dog was spoilt rotten and all her needs catered for. Being near Aldeburgh and Southwold an ideal centre for this beautiful part of Suffolk. Well done Charlie and team you are a credit to Chestnut Inns - we shall return.

They fitted us in this evening atveryshortnotice. The food was excellent as were the service and the atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You never know what you are going to get when you eat at a place on holiday and we were very fortunate. A brilliant meal and evening.
